What is the New Jersey Governor's CyberChallenge?

Governor Chris Christie is challenging students from across New Jersey to a statewide competition to identify and develop New Jersey's best talent in cybersecurity and to help them get a solid head start on one of the fastest growing and most lucrative careers. The New Jersey Governor's Cup CyberChallenge will help the nation fill the critical skills gap in cybersecurity.

How does it work?

CyberCenters is a comprehensive program of on-line courses, competitions, community college curriculum, and workplace residencies.

What's the first step?

The first step is to build foundation knowledge in cybersecurity. It includes:

  • On-line tutorials with quizzes measuring progression through levels
  • Foundational topics
  • Networking Fundamentals
  • Operating Systems
  • System Administration

Who is eligible?

  • Returning veterans
  • Current armed service members
  • High school students in junior and senior years. (Currently available to only New Jersey students.).
  • Job seekers
  • Second-career seekers
  • College students
